These linoleum carved prints are based on the photography I captured while in New York City. I loved the photos I took of the city, but at the same time I felt they needed something else. People were looking at all these photos and trying to pull some different type of meaning out of it, or they just seeing something that I didn’t know was there, or had even thought about. My goal with these pieces was to simplify everything about them. To bring these captured moments down to their simplest shapes and colors, so that you couldn’t find something in it that just wasn’t apparent and in front of your face. You see it and that first look, that first impression you get from it, is all you’ll get out of it.
